It is possible to find out which museums are participating in the initiative by connecting to the website or by connecting to the website of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.

The European Night of Museums is not just an opportunity to admire masterpieces of art and archaeological finds, but a reason to bring children and young people closer to the world of culture through special events such as concerts, theater performances, film screenings and educational workshops. Furthermore, in many museums it is possible to take part in various thematic guided tours, to discover curiosities and particular anecdotes linked to the works on display.   To understand the importance and grandeur of this event, it is enough to know that in France museums such as the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the Center Pompidou and the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac participate.

This year, the European Night of Museums will take place on Saturday 18 May 2024, an initiative now in its 20th edition promoted by the French Ministry of Culture.       Over 3000 museums across Europe will open their doors from 8pm until midnight, with the aim of encouraging the rediscovery of the artistic and cultural treasures of their country and beyond. The Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage is also organizing a rich program of events, exhibitions and guided tours in over 500 museums, archaeological sites and art venues in the Bel Paese. Entrances will be free or at a reduced rate, depending on the different structures.
